Let’s face it: Rush Limbaugh is a powerful man in politics. Sure, many people disagree with Limbaugh but none should question his influence. That said, on October 12 a caller actually got on the show and made mention of Ron Paul. Unfortunately Rush cleverly avoided any discussion of Ron Paul as you can see by reading the following transcript:

RUSH: Andrew in Mountlake Terrace, Washington. Hi.
CALLER: Hi, Rush, how’s it going?
RUSH: Good. Fine. Thank you.
CALLER: I’m calling today to talk about Congressman Ron Paul, and I think that he is probably one of the more conservative candidates running for president, and I think that you should talk about him more on your radio show.
RUSH: I should talk about Ron Paul more?
CALLER: Yes.
RUSH: Okay. Well, it’s Open Line Friday, so I’ll take that under advisement. I appreciate it. You’re a Ron Paul acolyte?
CALLER: Well, I’m an 18-year-old now, in Mount Terrace, Washington, and I’ve been following the 2008 election.
RUSH: Right.
CALLER: And, I don’t know, I think that he’s… Sorry if I seem a little nervous. It’s my first time calling you.
RUSH: I understand that. I’ve been a first-time caller, too, many years ago. I know how nervous it is. We don’t have much time here to talk about Ron Paul because the time is dwindling. Let’s see, I have seven seconds, six seconds. What can I say? Uh… Ron Paul. Republican candidate for president, Ron Paul.

Like Limbaugh or hate Limbaugh: it does not matter. His show is a platform to spread awareness of Ron Paul. That is why I ask of each and every Ron Paul supporter to flood Limbaugh’s phone lines with Ron Paul talk.
Monday – Friday from Noon-3PM eastern time, Rush takes calls at 1-800-282-2882. On Fridays he has a special “Open Line Friday” show where he takes more calls than normal.
Don’t just digg Paul articles, shove Paul down Limbaugh’s throat. And who knows, if hell freezes over and Limbaugh endorses Paul we would be one step closer to the Ron Paul revolution.

Haha, I hear ya about calling him more often, but I think it went pretty well. Old conservatives who listen to Rush probably wouldn’t like RP for the same reasons that an 18-year old would, so the kid didn’t get to do any damage and Rush didn’t get to rip him a new one. In fact it did the good of showing Rush listeners that young voters are paying attention to at least one Republican candidate.
Curtis – I’ll have to agree with you that old conservatives are probably a bit weary about Paul. Rush listeners in particular are unlikely to back Paul simply because they probably don’t think he has a chance since he is gets virtually no mention on Rush’s show. So long as people are under the impression that Paul doesn’t have a chance, they will consider him “a waste of their vote”.
It does not matter if they consider him a waste of time. The more mainstream he is, the better. And if listeners hear other listeners talk about him, it will cause them to spend some time researching him, and therefore listening to Ron’s message of freedom. Then they can make up their own minds as to whether they should agree with Rush.
I consider a wasted vote that of voting for the average Democrat or Republican Socialist. Even if I did vote for the so called winner, what good would it do me? I wasted many elections voting for the “lesser of two evils.” I prefer to vote for the person I want and Ron Paul would be a good choice even if I must write him in.
DAWN OF THE AMERICAN REFORMATION, AND END OF THE ERA OF THE UGLY AMERICAN
This Ron Paul constitutional rebellion is an escalation and re-orientation of the American Cultural War, by the American People, against the rising governmental tyranny by Neoconservative Republicans and Leftist Democrats. It is sweeping across America like a wildfire – ignited by the illegal and unnecessary invasion of Iraq.
It raises many crucial questions; such as, where does the American Constitution give my government the right to sacrifice precious American wealth and blood, in interests of domestic and foreign lobbies?
And, where does the American Constitution give my government the right to allow my nation to be invaded and permanently occupied by illegal aliens?
And, where does the American Constitution give my government the right to support the sacrificial killing of children, by their own mothers?
And, where does the American Constitution give my government the right to discriminate against traditional religious practices in public schools, universities, marriage institutions, armed forces, and governmental offices?
This creeping governmental tyranny, driven by perverse special interests, has now been going on for so many decades, like the illegal invasion, that the impending American Reformation is regarded with fear and loathing, by those who are to lose their illicit gains.
Like Gandhi, Ron Paul is drawing his intrepid volunteers from the full spectrum of humanity; and World is cheering him on to victory.
