Call of Duty 4 makes you unlock weapons, weapon attachments and mods, camouflage, and challenges. Well there is a way around that because all of the data is stored client-side. To unlock all weapons for Call of Duty 4 multiplayer so that you don’t have to level up follow these easy instructions.
- Download this mpdata file.
- Go to Start -> Run-> Type regedit -> Hit Enter.
- Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> Activision -> Call of Duty 4
- Double-click codkey
- Save the key in notepad
- Replace the key with: DL2J8PY44Q22GE4888D2
- Press OK and close regedit.
- Navigate to your Call of Duty 4 profile folder (typically “C:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 4 – Modern Warfare\players\profiles\your_user_name”)
- Back-up and then remove all the files in your user name folder.
- Place the mpdata file you downloaded in your user name folder
- Open the COD4 MP game and check your rank. You should now be level 55 with all challenges, guns, and every camouflage unlocked!
- Finally, in the game go to Options -> Multiplayer Options -> Key Code and type your original cd key you have saved in notepad.
There you go, you now have everything unlocked. Enjoy.

What if I accidentally deleted the folder located at : C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\call of duty 4\players\profiles
I deleted it by mistake and then just made a new folder, renamed it the same and put the mpdata file in it . Now when I start the game I am lvl 1 and there is a file in the player profile that reads mpdata.corrupt.
Would reinstalling the game and retrying the instructions fix this?

Thanks, used this over 6 times due to reinstalling! WOW! So many imbeciles on this who cant follow perfectly sustainable instructions.

Follow everything he says but just save the file (mpdata) at your desktop..
load C:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 4 – Modern Warfare\players\profiles\(yourname)
Drag the file (mpdata) from your desktop into that folder and YES overwrite the original mpdata you already have..
Load cod4 and check rank/challanges..
Change the keycode he gives you back to your original via; Options -> Multiplayer Options -> Key Code..

One thing wrong i did is to copy and paste to a new txt file the mpdata, but you really havo to save destiny has… (right mouse click menu)
Remember to join a server after changing the code inside COD, or you will have to repeat again!

If you are facing problem to locate Your Account Files while you using Vista, here is the solution for your problem:
All OS:
First off, you’re going to need to make hidden files and folder visible. In order to turn them on you need to go to your folder options under tools. I’ve attached pics for those who need them, Pics 1&2 are Vista pics 3&4 is XP. If your running Vista then your going to need to press the alt key in order to get the menu bar to appear. Then you will need to select the view tab. Once there you will see a radio button to “show hidden files and folders”, select it then click ok. Then what you need to do is copy your mpdata file in order to back up your profile but the location changes depending on what OS your running so…
Windows XP:
C:\Program Files\Activision\players\profiles\(your profile name)
Windows Vista x86:
With UAC Disabled:
C:\Program Files\Activision\players\profiles\(your profile name)
With UAC Enabled:
C:\Users\(your username)\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 4 – Modern Warfare\players\profiles
Windows Vista x64:
With UAC Disabled:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Activision\players\profiles\(your profile name)
With UAC Enabled:
C:\Users\(your username)\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 4 – Modern Warfare\players\profiles
With Steam:
C:\Program Files\Steam\Steamapps\common\Call of Duty 4 – Modern Warfare\players\profiles\(your profile name)
Then make sure your mpdata file is on like a jump drive or an external HDD this way if you ever need to reinstall you’ll still have it. Then if you ever need to restore it just copy it back into whatever folder you got it out of. Hope this helps some people out.

Tried this several times now, but just doesn’t seem to work fo me!
Stats keep all getting put back to zero.
So put back my orig file and CD key, so stats back to where they were.
I have Vista 32bit, and have followed it to the letter, removed the .txt file from the file etc, but when I fire it up, the stats are zero, not level 55.
Any ideas??

Exactly why this isn’t really cheating. You can have any weapons you want, but whether you use them well is a whole other thing.

I reformatted my computer and forgot that all this is client side. Thanks for giving me a way to not start all over.
its easy as to get the 55level using this….but once i have it installed and working…and i go to join a server (with my legit key) it says key is already in use…so i though, why not try with this serial…and same, so i cannot get on servers with either key, but i have my rank 55, and no error when loading up the profile.

I have the Steam version this is probably why, running the latest patch, from going to inserting the KEY from regedit or the game itself, it just reset itself back to my KEY.
Do I have to have version 1.7? Else it dosent work..
Worked perfect. I just took out the files in my profile folder. then put he mpdata in the folder. did the reg stuff. started the game, was immediatly happy to see i was lvl 55, then changed the cdkey thru the mp options in game, set up a custom class w/ golden deagle and mp44 and all that good stuff, joined a game, rolled faces. thanks
I can confirm that this does work. I hated it that I made one backup mistake and forgot all my stats. The only thing that you do not get is the stats for killing 2 people with one grenade etc.
But I’m getting at least access to all my guns and scopes again. I hope this isn’t a scam to steal keys. I’m now going to put my original key back in.

LOL? Ok last update of trying to make this work: I changed the key in Regedit instead of ingame. So I redid a few steps quick and corrected the original key ingame and voila. It worked!
So with patch 1.7xx it still works. Thanks Karma Rogue.
