Call of Duty 4 makes you unlock weapons, weapon attachments and mods, camouflage, and challenges. Well there is a way around that because all of the data is stored client-side. To unlock all weapons for Call of Duty 4 multiplayer so that you don’t have to level up follow these easy instructions.
- Download this mpdata file.
- Go to Start -> Run-> Type regedit -> Hit Enter.
- Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> Activision -> Call of Duty 4
- Double-click codkey
- Save the key in notepad
- Replace the key with: DL2J8PY44Q22GE4888D2
- Press OK and close regedit.
- Navigate to your Call of Duty 4 profile folder (typically “C:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 4 – Modern Warfare\players\profiles\your_user_name”)
- Back-up and then remove all the files in your user name folder.
- Place the mpdata file you downloaded in your user name folder
- Open the COD4 MP game and check your rank. You should now be level 55 with all challenges, guns, and every camouflage unlocked!
- Finally, in the game go to Options -> Multiplayer Options -> Key Code and type your original cd key you have saved in notepad.
There you go, you now have everything unlocked. Enjoy.

I JUST FIGURED IT ALL OUT ABOUT ALL THOOSE GUYT THAT GOT PWNED CUS THE “Corrput data, stats reset.” (INCLUDING ME!!)
All u have to do is to go to the OTHER cod player save place;
C:\Users\YOURNAME\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 4 – Modern Warfare\players\profiles\YOUR NICK
That worked for me!!
Note, i dont know if it works on XP. Got Vista, and it worked like a charm there!!! Now go fix your chars!!!

This will save all your data that, it won’t come up with *Corrupt Data, Status Reset* Another thing, This guy is stupid for letting everyone know what his CD-key is, although this wouldn’t work without it, still, unless he has another CD-Key any person in the world can access his CD-key and get it banned from hacking with it.

Hi, i would probably be able to get this to work, it is just the download file, it comes up with a page full of random gibberish (£/hd^%2) etc. i was lvl 43 and now i have to start again – sod that right off, im sure many others will agree. now i really feel the need to get back to a decent enough level, please help, contact at nufctom@hotmail.co.uk, feel free to spam it.. ¬¬ lol
I am trying to get on to the multiplayer to do step 11, and it keeps saying that the key is in use, does that mean the key is banned now, or is there a chance that someone is using it for their own benifit. I do have my own key, just wanted the lvl 55.

I have to ask the Question that share many players: How can you avoid the “error with reading data your status have been reset”-error if your ingame-browser shows no servers? I have to use an external gamebrowser, such as x-fire. that means i have to close cod4 mp and start it new because you can’t join a game external unless you closed cod!!! IP-connect via console tells me a timeout after 11 seconds, no matter which server im trying to join. I spend 8 Hours of my Life searching for the right way to fix the problem. PLEASE HELP!!!

in regedit be sure to press F3 to search others cd-keys of cod there is one other in vista anyways and make it same as that the one u replaced first

listen folks, for lots of people, when u right click the file and select save as….. the ONLY OPTION is a text file, and there is NO .txt at the end. So no more calling people retards, how can people save it from here when only option is text and it doesnt even have a txt extension?
FIGURED OUT HOW TO SAVE MPDATA CORRECTLY FOR EVERYONE!!! Go to control panel, folder options,select the view tab, click the circle that says show hidden files and folders, then directly under it UNCHECK the box that says hide extensions for known file types. THEN, right click the MPDATA, select save as, to desktop, now you WILL FINALLY be able to see the .txt extension at the end of the file and erase it! NO LONGER A TXT! Works great lvl 55 gold ak all the works!! THX WHOEVER POSTED IT AND GOODLUCK TO YOU NOOBZ LOL ^^
A TIP FOR WINDOWS VISTA USERS!
If you can’t find the players/profile folder.
1. Go into Computer
2. Go into drive (C:)
3. Go into program files
4. Go into the Activision folder
5. Go into the COD4 folder
Now, if you’re running vista and you can’t see the profile or players folder, look on the toolbar just above the folders, and below the bar that says ‘C:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 4 – Modern Warfare’.On this bar inbetween the folders and the C:, you should see an icon saying “Compatability Files”, click on this and voila, the players folder is there. Now, just double click the players folder, double click profiles folder and then follow the tutorials original instructions.

If you can’t grasp the concept of renaming file extensions and downloading text files, you should slap yourself for ever trying to use a computer.
And come on…who cares if people can get this guy’s cd-key banned? If you do this correctly, you never actually use his cd-key to connect to anything.

This is not detectable by punkbuster. If it knew you were doing it, it would do something about it though. for vista, the profiles folder is at:
C:\Users\\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 4 – Modern Warfare\players\profiles\
Your MPdata file is encrypted with your key, so If you have a mpdata file that is encrypted with a different key, it thinks it is corrupt. If you have other accounts on your computer, do not switch to them after step 6. You need to do twelve first.

You saved my life….. played for weeks built up my rank + weapons then some ass kicked me and I lost the whole lot. To be honest if this fix wasnt around I would uninstalled the game out of frustration. It works in vista, you have to follow the instructions and read the comments carefully in the later threads on how to view the file extensions in vista, save the file to the desktop, edit it there and then drag and drop to your profile folder…. worked for me – have fun… Paul

i cant even get past step 2 when i type regedit it wont allow me it says the system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and mircfosoft windows applications
I followed the instructions perfectly and I get the Error Message “Error with reading data your stats have been reset!”
If you think your that much of a genious then explain why this message appears and how to bypass it? Because I havent seen the answer so far reading through this. Im using Vista 32 bit btw. I removed the txt file extention and did everything exactly as written yet i get this message.
HOW TO GET IT TO WORK CORRECTLY!:
Ok ive figured it out now, this is how it is done exactly:
1. Download this mpdata file. (Right-click and Save file As) (Then Go into control panel -> folder options -> view -> look for hidden files and folders and uncheck “Hide extentions for unknown file types”, Then Delete the .txt next on the file mpdata.txt so it looks like mpdata)
2. Go Into COD4 Multiplayer and into multiplayer options and change your cd key to DL2J8PY44Q22GE4888D2
3. Go to Start -> Run-> (or hold windows key and press R) Type regedit -> Hit Enter.
4. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> ->SOFTWARE -> Program files -> Activision -> Call of Duty 4
5. Double-click codkey
6. Save the key in notepad (your orgininal key, not really nessassary)
7. Replace the key with: DL2J8PY44Q22GE4888D2
8. Press OK and close regedit.
9. Navigate to your Call of Duty 4 profile folder (typically “C:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 4 – Modern Warfare\players\profiles\your_user_name”) Or C:\Users\\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 4 – Modern Warfare\players\profiles for vista users
10. Back-up and then remove all the files in your user name folder.
11. Place the mpdata file you downloaded in your user name folder
Open the COD4 MP game and check your rank. You should now be level 55 with all challenges, guns, and every camouflage unlocked!
Finally, in the game go to Options -> Multiplayer Options -> Key Code and type your original cd key you have saved in notepad.
12. Before joining a game or exiting CHANGE YOUR CD KEY BACK TO YOUR ORIGINAL FROM THE MULTIPLAYER OPTIONS IN GAME.
Doing this exactly should fix any error message and you will have full stats if you did this right.

toma11, make sure you change the cd key in the registry as well, then in the game options, after you see lvl 55, dont join a game yet, put your original cdkey back in multiplayer options, then join a game and it will save those stats. dont worry about changing your cd key back in the registry though. I found this will erase any cod4 stats on other profiles in other windows logins so be careful if your dad tells you “WHAT!!?? WHERES MY STATS GONE IT TOOK ME AGES TO GET THERE! AND NOW ITS GONE!!!”. hehe saffice to say i had to fix it.

this isnt really a hack. I already had lvl 55 and almost had everything unlocked, but I got tired of trying to get everything unlocked and just wanted to play for fun… need i say more? these people should be raging about hackers that use aimbot. they should have made cod4 multiplayer stats more like bf2 stats and you should get special bombing and helicopter (that deal more damage) at high lvls.

Tried it, works just fine, so thanks for the tip! I was already level 55 since a few months, but I was spending too much time doing the weapon challenges IMHO
I had the golden MP44, and about halfway through the SMG challenges. Those take forever!!
Now I guess I’ll just spend more time playing & enjoying.
It would have been nice though that all the other challenges be unlocked too. I’ve only played a few games since the “patch”, and every 2 minutes I complete a challenge during the game … ^^

i have an issue with the damn PB.. i have reinstall the OS on my system and after that reinstall cod4 to play some, i mean i knew that all my stats were gone as i was unable to back up, but after the pb updates and all the patches to thecod4 has been done, as soon as i kill someone i got kick due to pb init failure, try updated pb manually doesn’t work, reinstall the game 3 times no good, delete pb folder and doing manual update no good, on console /pb_security 0 still doesn’t work, so my question is that if anybody has any PB folder files that are working that can forward it to me ill really appreciate, my email is sixkiller21@gmail.com or if you have another solution ill appreciatte just send it to my email.

I was on my way to try this thing after my CoD4 deleted my stats suddenly. As i had changed cd-key, backed up and replaced the mp-file i got back into the game to see what had happened and to my surprise i wasn’t level 55, but my old 47 ^^
And all my created chars where back…
i have no idea how this happened, because i removed the entire player folder and made a new one named the same and put the MP-file inside instead of overwriting.
So how the game remembered me again i have no idea ^^
So now i just changed my cdkey and replaced the mp-file again and it still works very nice. Gonna go into a game now and see if this is for real

If the mpdatat file it isnt working for you make sure you have file extensions viewable (tools > folder options > view. then uncheck hide file extensions for known types) Then delete the .txt part of the name, then the file isnt a text file anymore and will work like the original.
For those who lost their stats every time they try this recepie :
erase the “active.txt” file everytime BEFORE starting Cod4 to reenter your real cdkey.
