Call of Duty 4 makes you unlock weapons, weapon attachments and mods, camouflage, and challenges. Well there is a way around that because all of the data is stored client-side. To unlock all weapons for Call of Duty 4 multiplayer so that you don’t have to level up follow these easy instructions.
- Download this mpdata file.
- Go to Start -> Run-> Type regedit -> Hit Enter.
- Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> Activision -> Call of Duty 4
- Double-click codkey
- Save the key in notepad
- Replace the key with: DL2J8PY44Q22GE4888D2
- Press OK and close regedit.
- Navigate to your Call of Duty 4 profile folder (typically “C:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 4 – Modern Warfare\players\profiles\your_user_name”)
- Back-up and then remove all the files in your user name folder.
- Place the mpdata file you downloaded in your user name folder
- Open the COD4 MP game and check your rank. You should now be level 55 with all challenges, guns, and every camouflage unlocked!
- Finally, in the game go to Options -> Multiplayer Options -> Key Code and type your original cd key you have saved in notepad.
There you go, you now have everything unlocked. Enjoy.

Man, you people are morons if you can’t get this to work. Its a simple switch, nothing else. Just follow each step exactly and you are done, assuming you join a multiplayer server to save the data. It can even be a test server.
And no, PB will never detect this because it is all saved clientside. PB can only detect things that affect the serverside things, or change your game files. Since this mpdata was originally a legit mpdata, this is 100% safe.
And to anyone who bitched about people doing this, get over it. The only reason you complain is because now that everyone can use whatever gun they want, you can’t roll through people anymore.

I had to do this since i was lvl 4x and cuz of a bug i got everything resetted after a crash

This works great for my 2 pcs , one with vista and xp on other one.. the most important thing is to go into folder options in control panel and uncheck “Hide extentions for unknown file types”, Then Delete the .txt next on the file mpdata.txt so it looks like mpdata.

Follow the advice in post #107. However, I stress that before you apply the hacked mpdata file, you need to make sure that the fake CD key is registered in both the registry AND the game. On my computer, if I changed the CD in the reg, it didn’t update in-game. I needed to change both. THEN apply the hacked mpdata file. If the game notices a discrepency between the CD saved within the encrypted mpdata file and what is registered in the game itself, it will reset your stats and create a mpdata.corrupt file in your profile. In my case, I ended up having to rename the “mpdata.corrupt” to just “mpdata” over-writing the “reset” one which the game created.
I found this only because i was getting a config and by accidently messed with the mpdata…i had unlocked everything, so i thought doin this would not really be unfair.

I used this “cheat” (it works very well btw, congratulations) But i was thinking, i have the game for pc and ps3. Will using this cheat on my pc have cause problems on my ps3 (which is used in the same network)? Because i play for fun on my pc but i play really serious on my ps3.
Yeah works fine if you just remember to do this in version 1.4, after changing the key in registery, just go to a game and change it to your original one and then join to some server for a while so it registers your rank. That’s it.
I spoke to Evenbalance (the PB) people, they are fixing this in the next PB release, it will ban your CD key

Perfect. btw about thos guys jelling thart they hate cheaters etc etc…. i got my lvl 55 in 1 and half day, took this save ( cos its save game not a cheat or crack) only to get red tiger on weapy. anyway im kinda supriced how dumb ppl are, when somone use trainer or aimbot or sth – u call hem “HACKER”, when somone use save backup u scream “omg cheater cheater”. idiots.

This works….at first I had problems even though I followed all the steps but after I turned UAC(User Account Control) off it worked perfectly.

this works great… first time i tried it didnt work but this was because i had 2 profiles… DO NOT HAVE MORE THEN ONE PROFILE UNLESS U REPLACE ALL MPDATA FILES…. otherwise one profile has one set of info (cdkey ie) and the others have different info…

hey all, ive been reading every post and im about to try this out. I think i understand i just want to know, after you save the mpdata at the top of the page and remove the .txt file extension does it matter where it is saved? I just want to know this before i try.
Also is it true you only can have 1 character when you do this? Just want to know as it will save a lot of time wasted getting annoyed. Thanks heaps everyone, this is going to make Call of Duty 4 so much more enjoyable.
THIS WORKS WITH VISTA AND CALL OF DUTY 1.5
In fact I use it on a cracked server and it still works.
You literally have to follow the directions perfectly.
Change your CODKEY in the registry.
REMOVE ALL FILES (Not folders) in your profile directory.
Move the mpdata file in (not mpdata.txt, if it says mpdata.txt then you must remove the “txt” extension)
Once this is done, start your COD MP up, it should show right away when you click on your Ranking that it is LVL 55.
YOU MUST JOIN A GAME. If you play cracked servers, then WRITE down the IP address and in the console menu (you must enable console if you have not already, its somewhere in the options) just type “Connect XX.XXX.XX.XX:XXXXX” where the X are the numbers for the IP address.

Yo i got a little problem, i’m playing a cracked server, and after i updated everything, did your little trick, ran CoD4 client, logged on a server, and in like 3-4 sec i get Disconnected.
tried restarting cod4 few times but still, i get disc every 3-4 sec after i join the server…
so could u guess whats wrong?

When i open game, it comes up with an error saying:

I was apprehensive given all the failures I read in this thread but I decided to try it anyway. I am using xp pro and cod 4 1.5. The initial directions at the top of this page worked flawlessly. I lost all my stats in a reformat and was back at level 1, total pisser. I remembered reading about this hack and found this blog post. It works. I am lvl 55 and everything is unlocked. Just got done playing several rounds of cod without any trouble. NICE.

Hi guys , Right if u have problems installing this , listen up first of, this is not a cheat , what actually hapend here is someone played his toon to Level 55 and copy’s his Mpdata file and your just using his , if u only use the file and paste it into your profilke u get his lvel 55 and nothing else , so basically what im trying to say is , u can copy your own Mpdata file ( lets pretend your level 25 ) and give it to someone else and he will be level 25.
This crack works with any windows , cista,xp fucking windows 95 waht ever, and u if u do not use a Original CoD4 cd key ( meaning u didnt purchase the game) u downloaded it from http://www.thepiratebay.org and u didnt use your own cd key u used Razor key genarator that u also got from http://www.thepiratebay.org, u dont have to retype your key in u can just keep the one that this instruction told u to paste in the regedit, the comon error u guys get ( as if read through the whole thing) is that your date is reset) lets say u folowed the instructions perfectly and it doesnt work cuase u get that error ( reset error) just retry it a fewe times its like a glitch it doesnt accept it the first time but after a while it does, the way it worked for me on the 7th time was i forgot to close the game on tryu NR 6 so i suggest opening the game first , then folowing the steps again,

TO all the people that cannot get this to work…..Stop trying to get it to work. If you cannot follow those simple directions then you done need to be owning a computer, MUCH LESS f-in with REGEDIT!!! This process takes literally 30 seconds to complete. Hell I even walked someone through over Xfire doing it and we got it done in 15 minutes and hes only 14! TO make it easier to understand:
Download the file, save it to your desktop.
Open regedit and change the key
DO NOT OPEN COD4 YET!
Copy and Paste/Copy and Replace the mpdata file you downloaded and put it into the same folder as your current mpdata file. Just overwrite the damned thing.
Now, open COD4 and go into that profile. You should be lvl 55. Check Ranks and Challenges to make sure.
YOU ARENT FINISHED YET
Change your CD KEY BACK to your own personal one. This is done in Options – Multiplayer Options – Key Code.
Now hop into a game and make a kill or do something that gives you stats or experience.
Leave the server. Exit the game and restart COD4.
Your stats should still be at lvl55.
If you cannot follow these simple steps then stick with leveling it the hard way, unfortunately. I did it last night and it was extremely SIMPLE.
Also, an update to what I said b4, if you change the CDKey INGAME this will not work. It needs to be done with Regedit. If your profile does not have Regedit then you need to enable the hidden Administator account on Vista (This step is for Vista users only). Microsoft does give your “admin” acct regedit usually. If you need help enabling this admin acct, go to start > Run>CMD; in the black box type this: net user administrator /active:yes
This will enable the REAL admin acct on Vista. Now log on to the new ly enabled profile on the computer.
NOTE!!! If you have to do this step then u will always have to be on the REAL ADMIN acct to play COD4 as the COD4 profiles do not coincide with the other accts on the computer. Now you can use regedit whenever you need to. To disable the admin acct, go back to start > Run > CMD and type this: net user administrator /active:no There it is finished…..Good luck.
It really works..Got to keep trying. The tricky part was changing teh file extension. Do a search on this post for that and follow instructions.

I have used this about 3-4 times without any problems at all. Yesterday tho i had to reinstall my xp and did it in a haze, forgot to move my cod4 dir to backupdisk….. sigh… well, i reinstalled all and patched it up to 1.7 and NOW the probs begins. I can as i have done before get lvl 55 following this post and in the end typed in my orignal key and connect to a PB enabled server BUT when i disconnect and join another server i get the “stats reset” error. Tried many times but no-go. Can anyone confirm if this works still? In 1.7? P.s i even tried this fix in 1.6 and after thats done updating to 1.7 but it´s the same…
OK, what you do is:
DO ALL THE STUFF HE TOLD YOU TO DO.
Now, when you’ve changed your CD key back; then go play online, DO NOT RESTART COD4.
Play on like 3 different online servers.
You may exit cod4 now and open it back up.
Should work.

Cant spseak for other OS’s but on VISTA i didnt have to go through REGEDIT. i just backed up my game data, launched COD MP. changed the cd key in the menu, closed cod, replaced mpdata, loaded CODMP and set my cd key back to my own….

Thanks for this, saved me after a reformat. When I got on COD4 and saw that all my unlocks/camo were gone I nearly punched a baby. Thanks to this that baby is still safe and only a baby seal was clubbed.
