Are there video games for the Amazon Kindle? If not – We need Amazon Kindle games to play! It would be kick-ass to be able to play NetHack on the Amazon Kindle. NetHack the roguelike specifically. If you know whether or not you can play games on the Kindle, please leave a comment.

I published a simple two player Tic Tac Toe (Noughts and Crosses) game for the Kindle, see http://www.amazon.com/dp/B001UV3ZR8.
The Kindle is pretty limited as a gaming platform – it’s basically an HTML viewer. You have to use your imagination to come up with workable games. Two player games work best, because there’s no random element – playing ‘against the Kindle’ will always have a predetermined outcome.
This will change if Amazon publishes an API that allows more interactive content.
Kindle pages have a slight time delay on page turning. Since super-simple computers can switch screens of pages near instantly (Remember the 80s), this is probably due to the electronic paper it uses. Considering this, the framerate would be awful.
Still would like to see John Conway’s Game of Life run on there at any speed, though.
