Have you ever given thought to Zero-Player Games? Let’s
Information:
Zero-player games are games that have no human players
Wikipedia Entry
Examples:
Progress Quest
NPC Quest
Conway’s Game of Life
Most sports games (i.e. Madden Football) can be used to create CPU vs. CPU matches and are often used to simulate the outcomes of real games. Fighting games, RTS games, and other games can also be used for this purpose.
Glider, a bot that plays World of Warcraft for you, is also worth mentioning. Botting, in a sense, is cruise control that plays the game for the user. (When I had an active WoW account, my favorite thing about the game was using my bot to turn WoW into an entertaining screensaver featuring my avatar grinding.)
WarGames is a movie where a zero-player game controls the fate of mankind

Well, I was just wondering if there is a site listing zero player games? I play ProgressQuest and I’m really looking for more. A similar one is http://www.wtfrpg.com, but again I’m looking for more. Already know about IdleRPG.
Lol I have never played a zero palyer game, but to me it sounds like a great idea, humorous too.
+1 for zero player games.
I think the future of Zero-Player games is bright, when I was reading your post, I quickly got some ideas:
1 War games: CPU vs CPU, or even more than 2 CPUs fighting, there may be allies of several CPUs, can be used to make a fantasy war game video, some people like this very much
2 For certain kinds of games, there is the concept of “level”, you level up as you gain more experiences, bots can help you do this if you are busy but still want to level up your character.
3 There are some competition where programmer write AI codes for robot, then several programmer’s robots fight against each other on a field(screen), the best AI programmer is the winner
4 Gambling. Imagine horse racing, computer can do this, but there must be some uncertainties(randomness), otherwise one could predict the outcome.
