Ok Pyth here is your answer:

Vista has a safety feature that puts data files into a virtual store icnloding in some instances your cod 4 profile ok now im gna show u hove to locate virtual store and therefor ur profile

This is what u do:

you go to your local hard drive (shortcut is the windows key(the one with the flags) +E) that opens up windows explorer next thing you want to do is to go the the harddrive that contains your operating system then you go there you find all those program files, windows and that kind of folders but there is also a folder called "users" double click that folder and go to your local profile the next step recuires you to enable see hidden folders, i will explain how u do that later in your user folder for example C:/Users/Helgizt/ you will see a hidden folder called AppData double click the AppData folder and there you will see three folders called "Local" "LocalLow" and "Roaming" select the local folder there you will see the activision folder that contains your profile and this is how the path looks (u can copy/paste this path if you change [user] into the name of your user folder C:\Users\[User]\AppData\Local\Activision\Call Of Duty Modern Warfare\Players\Profiles.

Thats how you find your profile

Now to show you how to enable "view hidden folders" first go to Control Panel set it to "Classic View" go to folder options and click the "view tab" there you will need to locate the checkbox for hidden files and folders and check the checkbox that says "show hidden files and folders"

Hi eric i really need your help ill be able to do the other instructions but i just cant download the mpdata i clicked on it and it comes up with funny symbols and loads of other stuff.So could you please help me do it only the first bit will be great.

buddha420 I am using vista and in the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> Activision -> Call of Duty 4 I can find this : Activision -> Call of Duty 4! can you help me? :S

um, i'm using vista and i followed everything Helgizt said and i got it to work (the player folder and all) but when i insert my "mpdata" file into my username file it corrupts, i deleted everything in it. i'll put it in there and i'll load the game and nothing will change im still lvl 1. PLEASE HELP ME !!!!!!!!!!

who ever emailed me thnx for the explantion. i have it working now.

P.S. any of you who has the same problem, the reason mine wasnt working is because when i used "REGEDIT" and changed my key code and for some WeIrD reason it didnt change the keycode on my cod 4. so i manualy changed it. (opened cod4 and typed it in seperate). NOTICE when Helgizt said "select the local folder there you will see the activision folder that contains your profile" there is an extra step i had to take. this step is that when you open users go Users -> "yourdesktop name" -> Appdata -> Virtualstore -> program files -> activison -> Call Of Duty 4. there you SHOULD find your players fodler.

ok, im useng the STEAM version of COD4. I went into regedit, located the key, changed it, then added the mp to my PROFILE/ and even changed the key from in game then when i restarted the game, it said error occred reading stats and all stats reset... what am i doing wrong, im on Windows 7

REALLY NEED HELP!!! I'm using windows 7 btw. When I go into the registry to find the Activation folder it's not there!!! I've done this crack before on XP so I'm assuming it's cause I have 7. Is there any other way for me to get into that key editor thing besides regedit?
